The Gazette & Times - Television viewers to mark builder Lee's home work
A Proud builder from Swale has enjoyed national fame, showing off a unique house he helped to improve.

Lee Fosbraey, from Sittingbourne was approached by a family with designs for their three bedroom home in Selling, near Faversham, who also got in touch with the makers of ITV1 programme Don't Move Improve, who thought the plans looked interesting.

Cameramen filmed the whole project last summer and the result as show on ITV1 on Thursday.

Mr Fosbraey, who has owned his firm Fosbraey Builders for three years, said he was asked to talk in front of the cameras about the work he was doing.

He said "It was fun and a good experience for me, I was a bit nervous because I'm a builder, not a lecturer, bt I had my five minutes of fame. I had to ring the cameraman whenever we were going to do something new, so he could come down and film it. The work took a bit longer than planned beause the design of one of the rooms changed half way through and we had to wait for planning permission."

The house was originally a police house with a flat roof on one side and Lee and three others spent 10 weeks adding steel beams on to give the new roof a sloping shape, converting a box room into a gallery, creating a large bedroom with en-suite and adding two extra bathrooms. The whole top half of the house was then covered with wood cladding.

Focus on Home Improvement
Fosbraey Builders of Sittingbourne was featured in the ITV makerover programme, Don't Move Improve in June.

Specialising in extensions and other building works, the fame of this small, family run business has been spreading ever since, with friends and customers even seeing the programme in Spain.

Owner Lee and his wife Claire started the business over three years go. It has been growing ever since, with much of the work coming from recommendations made by satisfied customers.

With five-full time staff and plumbers and electricians available on sub-contracts, the business is big enough to be flexible but small enough to offer a personal service.

Lee said "We are really committed to working closely with our customers and developing an excellent builder and client relationship and I have a portfolio of previous jobs which I can show prospective customers.

I have been in the building trade for the past 25 year and doing a good job for everyone is vital.
